Held in London on September 18 was the All Walks Beyond the Catwalk event, an initiative to showcase the work of eight designers on eight models aged between 18-65 and sizes 8-16, as a celebration of individuality and diversity. Although promoted as a redress of the lack of diversity on the UK catwalks, this BFC-sponsored event was held in Somerset House well away from the main tents of London Fashion week. It is hoped the event may still effect some necessary change although it was off the radar of the fashion hordes.
In advertisement of the event, i-D Magazine featured photography by Kayt Jones of the eight designer’s pieces in their pre-Fall Pretty Young Things issue. Following are the images featuring the three larger models chosen to walk in the event.
