V MAGAZINE: PREVIEW #1

Post image for V MAGAZINE: PREVIEW #1

From Models.com comes this preview of images from V Magazine #63. The magazine seems to have relaxed its initial request to only show a maximum of 2 images, so following are the full series of photos with clothing credits, for those wondering what the models are wearing.

In other news related to this issue, it is rather interesting to hear that its working title was “Every Body is Beautiful“.  What a great name for a blog about larger models LOL!!

Photographer: Terry Richardson
Styling: Mel Ottenberg
Make up: Frank B (The Wall Group)
Hair: Peter Gray for Cutler Salon

Models: Jacquelyn Jablonski and Crystal Renn

LOVING the “One Size Fits All” concept, but I think it’s better expressed as one ‘look’ fits all, as we all have seen those OSFA labels on clothes and found out that often one size doesn’t do the job for everyone. Showing the same outfit on a smaller and larger model however? Genius!! What better way to rub out the notion that certain sizes are “better” for showing off fashion than others, or do away with the outdated notion of ‘what larger women can and can’t wear’ in regards to pattern mixing, skirt lengths and accessory loading!

Thank you, Mel Ottenburg – you are raising the bar for stylists everywhere.  Click on the double page image to see a larger version of Crystal’s outfit.

I am so glad this was done. Real woman are not stick figures. I’m glad we can see both sides of the story. Also the more I read an learn about Crystal, the more I’m inspired by her. Personally, I wish more models like Crystal would be used, so that us men who prefer women over girls, will know what we can buy for our women.

Neha,
As per the comments policy outlined in the menu bar I’ve edited your comments as they relate to the model’s size. I understand where you are coming from, but one model cannot be all things to all people and we should not expect them to be.
