In this issue of Elle France, albeit a special “Curvy” one, Elle’s editorial staff have used their good sense to call in clothes from many major design houses to suit a model sized 48EU/16US/18UK. And then they put her ON THE COVER. In an HERMÈS jumpsuit, for goodness sake. Listen up Anna Wintour: This is how you create change – by being the change you want to see.
Tara Lynn is a model I first noticed way back in late 2008 when she started out doing online advertising for Nordstrom and boy has she been getting busy since then! And Elle France has been getting busy as well, because for all of the recent hype of unretouched celebrities featured on Elle covers, the magazine had failed to properly embrace size diversity in their fashion pages beyond featuring a few selected models in interview from time to time.
Congratulations to Valérie Toranian (Editor, Elle France), Tara Lynn, David Oldham and everyone involved in creating a marked advance in how larger women are portrayed in fashion magazines, i.e. wearing actual designer clothing that works for, not against the body!!
Issues of this magazine can be waitlisted from the RRMagshop at this post. The cover price of this issue is only 2.30Euro, so it won’t dent your budget!

This is fantastic to see! It is amazing to be witness to the amount of Diversity in Fashion we have been seeing in the last year especially. Now it’s time for Anna Wintour to do more DOING and less TALKING. She has been incredibly inconsistent over the last year & I can only hope she will see this and realize that talk is nothing without action. I can only hope that with this – diversity can be seen within one magazine going forward. I would hate to think we are moving towards having curvy magazines and so called thin magazines separate. Diversity needs to be true diversity & include ALL sizes, all shapes, all body types, all ethnic backgrounds, and cultures. I hope to see a magazine take this wave of diversity and share all types of beauty within one magazine magazine cover. Let us not forget Diversity means diversity, not separation based on sizes. So congrats to Elle France for being part of the baby steps to hopefully move to a magazine where I can open and see women of all sizes, shapes, body types, etc.
