ELLE BELGIUM, MAY 2012

While the Belgian edition of Elle could easily have reissued the Tara Lynn cover and interview as Elle Norway did, they decided instead to commission fresh content to showcase local talent, including an interview and brief video.  They even name-checked her on the cover!

While this model is presently more familiar to readers in Europe than in the US, the international trafficking of models across the Atlantic will no doubt change that soon enough.  I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this trend of interviewing larger sized models.  While everyone is interesting in their own right (i.e. beyond being a model), I would rather see a magazine give us an inspiring fashion editorial from a model, rather than words.  Elle *IS* a fashion magazine after all!
