Pippa Jefferys is an Australian model who has been present in the plus size model industry since 1994. After scoring her first booking after calling a model agency on a whim while travelling in Vancouver Canada, her modelling career took off as it happily coincided with the first surges in plus size fashion both in Australia and internationally.
In 1995 she started residing in Vancouver and signed with agencies in Seattle and then Ford Models in LA (1997) and Ford Toronto. As her career progressed, she then signed with top agencies in Miami, New York and London and through their combined management Pippa travelled to shoot locations across Africa, Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and the US/Canada.
Pippa has enjoyed the unusual achievement of appearing on newsstands in five Australian magazines simultaneously in October 2006 (Vogue Australia, Marie Claire, Madison, New Idea and Australian Women’s Weekly). She has also appeared in overseas publications as diverse as Home Essentials (UK), Damernas Väld (Sweden), Lifetime and Figure magazines (US), and in The New York Times and Vancouver Sun newspapers. She has walked the runway for a majority of North American department stores including Saks, Nordstrom, Macys, Bloomingdales, Bon Marche, Holt Renfrew, Eaton’s and Hudson’s Bay; has had featured roles in fashion and non-fashion TV commercials; she’s modelled and styled other models for daytime TV in Australia and the UK; and has even photographed portfolio images for US models from Ford and Wilhelmina.
As a staunch advocate for size diversity in fashion and a longtime observer of the industry, Pippa created an online archive of published images of models over a size 10 called Every Body Is Beautiful in January 2009 (now a popular hashtag) to provide creative resources and a form of balance to the narrow media definitions of beauty. In November 2009 the website moved to the new domain name of RunwayRevolution.com and to date has received over 650,000 unique visitors. Self-funded and supported materially by industry stakeholders and with the assistance of a long-established network of model friends and agents, RunwayRevolution.com is able to present a truly international perspective of the plus-size model industry from an informed and substantially experienced peer source.
Pippa is available for model bookings via Silverfox Management in Sydney
